LONDON – IOPHR organised a conference consisting of members of the UK Parliament, academics, public service officials, and representatives of educational institutions. The aim of the conference was to discuss the growing threat of extremism being conducted in the name of religion within our society. An in-depth analysis was presented on this precarious issue, including various social, political, religious and cultural considerations, in order to be well-equipped to counter these issues.

We've received worrying reports of imminent execution of #MiladArmoun, imprisioned in Iran on false charges. Having endured mental & physical torture, forced confession & no access to a lawyer we fear #IranianRegime will murder yet another innocent protestor. #StopExecutionsInIran https://t.co/Op53hzgFXK

Matiullah is still in custody.
He was aware that this could happen. He decided to openly fight for girls rights in #Afghanistan. To be very public, instead of hiding behind his privileges.
We have to keep the pressure up to #FreeMatiullahWesa #FreeWesa https://t.co/b0VDDfexWI

🛑 #ToomajSalehi- 5 months in solitary confinement for protesting with the lyrics of his songs! We call on the International community and all political figures who are able to act to be his voice. These blatant #HumanRightsAbuses by the Iranian Regime must stop. #FreeToomajSalehi https://t.co/KwU4IKtWmM

IOPHR is concerned about the health of @Vahid_beheshti who is on Day 34 of #HungerStrike. We urge @GOVUK to Proscribe #IRGC right away, both because there is a mass of evidence proving its status as a Terrorist Organisation & also for Vahid's health.
